Grant applications for the next funding cycle of the Community Fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation are due October 21.
“The Community Fund is an unrestricted fund that allows the foundation’s board to be responsive to the changing needs of the community,” said CRCF Executive Director Karen Niemic Buchheit. “The grants, typically between $100 and $2,000, help nonprofit organizations fund important projects that have a significant positive effect on our region.”
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations.
CRCF’s board reviews applications based on the applying organization’s stability, the impact its work has on the community, the feasibility of the project proposed in the grant application and the role a grant from the Community Fund would play in the overall project, Ms. Buchheit added.
CRCF makes grants from the Community Fund in November and May every year.
In May the CRCF board of directors approved grants to aid community gardening efforts at the Olean Food pantry, delivery of fresh vegetables to underprivileged residents in Olean, an inaugural medical clinic providing care to those lacking access and the providing of safe cribs to underprivileged parents to combat high rates of Sudden Infant Death syndrome.
Applications are available online at cattfoundation.org under the grant seekers tab. Contact CRCF with any additional questions at 716-301-2723 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
