Four area students recently received awards from the Burt Scholarship fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.
“This award, established by the First Presbyterian Church of Olean Burt Committee in memory of Dr. Rudy Burt, is available to students from Allegany-Limestone, Hinsdale, Olean and Portville schools,” said Karen Niemic Buchheit, Community Foundation executive director.
“Each year four $1,000 awards are made from the fund to students who demonstrate financial need,” she added.
- Matthew Davis of Hinsdale Central School, pursuing Electrical Engineering at Alfred State College;
- Albanie Hendrickson-Stives of Portville Central School, pursuing Chemistry at Syracuse University;
- Allison Lindquist of Allegany-Limestone High School, pursuing Radiology at University of Pittsburgh at Bradford; and
- Matthew Sader of Olean, pursuing Business Administration at Nazareth College.
