Support from the Mahar Family Fund helps community organizations provide essential services to the needy in the community as the holidays approach each year.

“The DePaul Society extends our deepest gratitude for [the Mahar Fund’s] support of helping the needy of our local community,” said Mr. Ronald Mater, president. “This grant will be used to provide much-needed assistance to families who have fallen on ‘hard times.’”

According to CRCF Executive Director Karen Niemic Buchheit, the family foundation fund doesn’t only benefit the grant recipients.

“I know it touches Roberta’s heart to suggest grant recipients every year,” said CRCF Executive Director Karen Niemic Buchheit. “She has a real passion for supporting causes in the community, and to do it in memory of her beloved family members makes it all the more special.”

The Mahar Family Foundation has made possible some $13,000 in grants supporting local charitable organizations since Roberta and Francis established the fund in 2004.
