The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation will hold its second Nonprofit Link and Learn Seminar of the year, “Essentials of Graphic Design and Branding for Nonprofits,” to be led by digital marketing expert Mark Fischer on August 16.

This session will cover the fundamentals of good graphic design, including key principles of layout, color theory and typography.

Attendees will learn how to enhance their mission and connect with their audience to create cohesive and impactful materials that resonate with supporters and drive engagement.

The session will be held on August 16 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Laine Place building, 301 North Union St. in the third-floor Carney Training Room.

With over a decade of experience at Cutco Corporation as a graphic designer and marketing coordinator, Mark Fischer is a graphic design and digital marketing professional dedicated to creating impactful materials and marketing campaigns.

In his role, Fischer focuses on driving customer engagement while ensuring a consistent and recognizable brand presence. Fischer combines creativity with strategic thinking to develop designs that not only capture attention, but also resonate with the target audience and achieve organizational goals.

Fischer has a Bachelor of Science focused in graphic design and digital media from Champlain College.

Prior to his work with Cutco, Mark was a web support and communications assistant at St. Bonaventure University.

The workshop will be held in-person only.

“We are thankful that Mark is giving his time to share his expertise with our area nonprofits,” said CRCF Executive Director Kirk Windus. “His experience will surely leave attendees with practical knowledge they can use to enhance their organization.”

“Branding is essential as a nonprofit organization, ensuring the message resonates and drives meaningful impact in the communities we serve,” he added.

The final session of the year, set for September 6, will focus on Cattaraugus Gives and will be led by Windus and Tyler Veno, CRCF communications and fund development manager and Cattaraugus Gives coordinator.
