Five area graduates received the Jonathan Teuscher Scholarship, a four-year scholarship managed by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, together receiving $12,500 over the four years of the award.
Mackenzie Aderman, Natalie Bradley, Hannah Cole, Julia Fowler and Henry Schauer all received the Jonathan Teuscher Scholarship.
The Jonathan Teuscher Scholarship, established by Steve and Donna Teuscher in memory of their son, Jonathan, is given to students from Olean, Portville, Allegany-Limestone and Archbishop Walsh, who have faced challenges while maintaining a positive attitude. The scholarship of $625 is renewable each year of continued education up to four years, for a total of $2,500.
Aderman, an Allegany-Limestone graduate, will attend the University at Buffalo to study biomedical science/pre-med. Bradley, a graduate of Olean high will study communications at Buffalo State College. Fowler, a Hinsdale graduate, plans to study early childhood education at Santa Fe College.
Cole and Schauer are both graduates of Portville Central School. Cole plans to study international relations at SUNY Geneseo. Schauer will be attending Jamestown Community College to study media arts.
Over the years the Jonathan Teuscher Scholarship has made possible over $120,000 in scholarships for deserving students.
