Allegany-Limestone Central School students seeking enrichment outside of the general curriculum can apply now for the Ratana Ratanawongsa Scholarship, managed by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.
The scholarship provides funds for ALCS students in grades 7-10 to pursue enrichment programs during the school year or for summer programs.
This year the fund will provide a scholarship of up to $500.
This scholarship in memory of Dr. Ratana Ratanawongsa, a former pathologist at both St. Francis and Olean General hospitals, was established by her family to give students the opportunity to explore new and interesting opportunities before college.
In the past, the fund has helped students participate in unique educational opportunities like leadership conferences, college-level education programs and more.
Applicants must write a short, 200-word essay on why they chose to enroll in an enrichment program and provide a teacher or guidance counselor recommendation.
Applications are available at cattfoundation.org/apply-for-scholarships or at the school’s guidance office. Completed applications may be mailed to 301 North Union St., Suite 203, or emailed to [email protected] for review.
Students are encouraged to submit their applications by March 1.
Donations can be made to the Ratana Ratanawongsa Scholarship Fund at CRCF, 301 North Union Street, Suite 203 or online at cattfoundation.org.
