Cattaraugus Gives, powered by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, will return this year on Giving Tuesday, December 3, to support Cattaraugus County nonprofit organizations.
Registration is open to area nonprofits at cattaraugusgives.org.
Cattaraugus Gives is a 24-hour online fundraising event that brings together nonprofits from across Cattaraugus County to compete and collaborate.
Last year, Cattaraugus nonprofits together raised $306,567 for their respective missions. Since 2018, Cattaraugus Gives has empowered local nonprofit organizations in raising over $1 million to better the lives of community members.
Cattaraugus Gives also allows nonprofits to compete for cash awards depending on their fundraising efforts throughout the event.
Last year, participating organizations collected $19,150 in prizes throughout Cattaraugus Gives.
Participation in the program is open to any 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization in Cattaraugus County and CRCF funds.
CRCF Executive Director Kirk Windus described Cattaraugus Gives as an investment in community nonprofit capacity building.
CRCF covers the cost of the giving day platform and organizes the program.
“Cattaraugus Gives utilizes the power of social media and community collaboration to ignite the giving spirit of the community, showcasing the collective generosity and spirit of our region,” said Windus. “This initiative is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a common cause.”
Additionally, CRCF will be offering a training seminar as part of its nonprofit link and learn series to be announced at a later date. “Cattaraugus Gives by the Numbers” will take an in-depth look into the analytics and stats from 2023’s giving day to help participants form a strategy to get the most out of their giving day campaigns.
CRCF will also again be seeking sponsorships from businesses in the community to provide more prize opportunities. Businesses interested in sponsoring a prize can contact the Foundation at [email protected] or 716-301-2723.
Established in 1994, CRCF is growing good by connecting donors to the causes they care about most in the region. Grants from the Foundation support many areas, including education, scholarships, health care, the arts, community development, human service, and youth development.
