Francesca Bartimole
From Olean High School to IBM, Francesca Bartimole is another CRCF scholarship success. The 2013 Olean High School graduate and John J. Murphy Scholarship recipient graduated from Clarkson University this past May. Bartimole majored in engineering and management and served as a student assistant for the department and a member of the engineering and management society.
Bartimole dedicated herself outside of the classroom as well. She was an active member of the university’s division of Circle K, a community service club that primarily holds fundraisers for charity causes and organizations. The avid skier joined the university’s ski club. Bartimole also studied abroad, spending a semester in Germany.
Bartimole is now part of IBM’S Consulting by Degrees program, a two-year internship program to develop the company’s future consultants. Through the program, Bartimole and colleagues are working on an internal project that focuses on business enterprising.
Bartimole says she is most thankful, though, for her upbringing in the Olean community.
“I’m just grateful for the community I grew up in. I think the teachers at OHS were very personable and really cared about our futures. I noticed that some of my friends at Clarkson didn’t have the same experience and support, so I’m just really grateful.”
