Troy Brennan
In his first year at the College of Charleston, Troy Brennan found a way to combine his majors in computer science and finance into a number of new entrepreneurial and education pursuits. Brennan, a 2019 Joseph and Cecily Higgins Scholarship recipient, maintained a 3.7 GPA while maintaining a busy academic and extracurricular schedule. Brennan joined the College of Charleston crew team and is now the novice team captain. He also became the cyber-security, finance, and Raymond James Ambassador in the school’s Honors Entrepreneurship Living-Learning Community. Through the program he was part of collaborative efforts to bring an improved transportation system to Charleston. He also took his computer programming and business interests to a new level by being involved in Startup Weekend, a competition for entrepreneurial start-up efforts, taking first with his team. He also was among only 40 students internationally to advance in renowned hackathon contest. He is currently working to a start a company with two classmates to develop new software to help end the vaping epidemic.
