Maryam Mirza
Maryam Mirza is a dedicated student currently studying Human Biology and Health and Society in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University. Alongside her majors, she is also minoring in Human Development. Maryam is the 2023 recipient of the Russell F. Greenawalt & Elizabeth Page Greenawalt Scholarship.
On campus, she is part of the Muslim Students' Association and the Pakistani Students' Association which are religious and cultural communities on campus. Maryam also regularly volunteers through Big Red Buddies, a club that allows Cornell students to spend time with children in classrooms to help build their emotional, social, and academic skills. She also spends her time as a research assistant in the Memory and Neuroscience lab. Maryam processes data and runs participants for studies that focus on determining factors that contribute to false memory and ways to make eyewitness testimonies more accurate.
Outside of school, Maryam is an EMT-B with Allegany Rescue and EMS. After college Maryam plans to extend her studies to medical school to become an emergency physician. Her diverse involvements both on and off campus showcase her many interests and dedication to serving her community.
